ACA Volunteers
The Alabama Celtic Association's most important resource is its volunteers. The most rewarding aspects of being active in an organization like ACA is "making a difference". Whether you carry a flag in a parade, key in addresses for a mailing list, bake cookies for an event, or man a booth or tent - your raised hand the best way to immerse yourself Alabama's Celtic community. Serving on the ACA Board, working on the Celtic Evening Committee, hosting or helping with an ACA Booth at an event are all great ways to get involved! If you have talent that you'd like to share - PLEASE feel free to call us at 205-655-7259. We always look forward to meeting new friends!
ACA Affiliates
Celtic groups, organizations or individuals in Alabama that qualify for ACA support are considered Affiliates of ACA. Affiliates are listed on the ACA web site and their activities may be promoted in the Celtic Alabama News. Affiliates of the Alabama Celtic Association must meet the following guidelines:
1) Affiliate organizations must have clear objectives that support Celtic heritage, arts and/or education in the State of Alabama.
2) Affiliate organizations must be based in Alabama. Branches of national organizations may also be considered affiliates if the director/teacher resides in the State of Alabama. Clan Societies may be considered affiliate if they have five members in the state and have a representative willing to serve as an Alabama contact.
3) Affiliate organizations must work in a postive way to promote Celtic culture in the Alabama. While competition for students, members, attendance etc. between various clubs and organizationsis normal and healthy - organizations that deliberately interfere with or harm the efforts of other Celtic organizations are not regarded as working in a positive way. Affiliation may be refused at the discretion of the ACA Board.
4) The non-profit status of the Alabama Celtic Association entails that ACA does not promote events or groups with religious or political agenda. ACA may list on its Calendar, Celtic Alabama performers at political/religious events such as fundraisers, festivals, membership drives, charitable events etc., but may not promote or advocate the event itself.
5) The Alabama Celtic Association reserves the right to remove web site links and information from the ACA web site and publications without warning if the linked site is found to have questionable or unsuitable content.
