Shoals Celtic Concerts Presents:  Celtic Spring on March 4 - FLORENCE
On March 4th, the Shoals Celtic Concert Series will bring the national
sensation ensemble, Celtic Spring to the Shoals Theater on March 14, 2008.
Tix are $12 in advance and $14 on the day of the show.  Kennedy Douglass
Center for the Arts on Tuscaloosa Street in downtown Florence. Known as the
"Von Trapp family of Celtic Music" ABC Good Morning America has said of
Celtic Spring ..."An Incredible Performance....An Amazing Family!" The Irish
News writes.... "Their performances are outstanding....wistful, haunting
melodies, vibrant rhythms!".  Limited Seating so act fast!

BIRMINGHAM'S Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade - Friday, March 14 !
Join one of the largest St. Pat's Parades in the Southeast as it takes to the street at 11:30 AM on Friday, March 14!  The Parade will travel from Five Points South down 20th Street to Linn Park.  Organizations, Clubs and Extroverted Individuals with a penchant for Green are invited to join the parade!  For more details, contact Linda Watts at 205-328-3593!  Take the day off, come downtown and just be Irish for a while!

Birmingham Irish Cultural Society hosts Annual St. Pat's Benefit at WorkPlay on March 14 -  BIRMINGHAM
On March 14, at 6:00 P.M. the Birmingham Irish Cultural Society will host
its annual charitable dinner with all the tastes, sound and trappings of a
grand Irish dinner!  Tickets are available at 205-908-6617.  The BICS dinner
will be at Work/Play, 500 23rd Street South, Birmingham. All proceeds
benefit Kid One Transport.

OmegaCon - A Sci-Fi / Fantasy Convention

Luck O' the Irish Festival - 5K Run and Cook-Off
at Bienville Square on March 15, 2008 -  MOBILE
On March 15, 2008 at Bienville Square - all the best and brightest
celebration of St. Patrick's Day will gather in one BIG event!  The Luck O'
the Irish Run-Parade-Cook-off will feature:  Food, Music, Children's
activities, Performances by the Murphy High School Jazz Band, Renowned
musician, Mark Kent, Irish dancers, Scottish pipers and more! There will
also be the annual 5K run and Parade with special awards for Mardi Gras
Associations.  Awards include: Best Corned Beef and Cabbage,  Best Dressed
Irish Chef,  Best Theme Tent and People's Choice Award! Tickets: $10 in
advance, $15 at the gate Children under 10 free when accompanied by an
adult! Available beginning February 21.  All proceeds support the Mobile

March 15 - Shillelagh Law LIVE at OTEY'S - CRESTLINE
Shillelaugh Law will be playing at Otey's Tavern in Crestline Village (224
Country Club Park, Birmingham, AL 35213) on March 15th from 5-8 PM. Local
Irish dancers will also be entertaining.  Otey's will be offering drink and
dinner specials to celebrate St. Patrick's day.

Hooley LIVE on  March 17 - MONTGOMERY
The Celtic Music Society of Montgomery presents Birmingham's HOOLEY playing
traditional Irish music at Noble's Restaurant (129 Montgomery St.)on Monday,
March 17th, 2008. Tix are $20 (CMSM Members Tickets $15)  Nobles will offer

Something Wicked This Way Comes...May 3 -4, 2008 - BIRMINGHAM
This May 3-4, MUSE OF FIRE: Shakespeare at Sloss presents MACBETH on the
Sloss main stage. It's an afternoon of bagpipes, belly-dancers, and
Shakespeare like you've never seen him before. The show will feature the
bagpipe stylings of Birmingham's very own Ryan Morrison, as well as his wife
Sherry's belly dance troupe, Ultra Hip Revue. Tickets go on sale in March -

Henri's Notions - Live Across the Southeast
HN will be at Florida Chautauqua Center in Defuniak Springs on February 2, the Savannah Irish Festival (Feb 15-17, 2008), Baytown Wharf in Sandestin FL on March 17, Montevallo Arts Festival at Montevallo U. on April 12,  and at the Loch Norman Highland Games (April 2008).  Additional performance dates are pending between now and Summer 2008, so stay tuned to the gig list at www.HenrisNotions.com !

SlipJig LIVE  - Upcoming Gigs in AL and Beyond...
Féile Franklin!  March 8, 2008 – Don't miss this really cool Celtic Arts event in downtown Franklin, Tennessee.  SlipJig will be taking the stage at 6:00pm.  Slipjig will headline An Irish Evening, Friday, March 14, 2008  at Huntsville's United Cerebral Palsy Annual Fund Raiser  at the Von Braun Center, Huntsville, on March 14, 2008.  This is a great event for a great cause.

Irish Session on 2nd and 4th Mondays at Cool Beans
Regular Irish music session is offered on the 2nd and 4th Monday's of the month from 7:00pm - 10:00pm at CoolBeans in Homewood right next to New York Pizza and Broadway BBQ.  Please feel free to come out and have a listen or join in if you play!. Irish Session on 2nd Tuesdays
Auburn's traditional Irish session is hosted every 2nd AND 4th Tuesday of the month at the Olde Auburn Alehouse, starting around 7pm. Session every Thursday at Finnegan's Pub
Another weekly Thursday night session in is in Huntsville; 7:30-10:30 (or so):  SlipJig Celtic band members and friends host a weekly session on Thursday nights at Finnegan's Pub on South Parkway in Huntsville.  Tunes and songs.  Always a fine time!  Skilled players, interested on-lookers, and innocent by-standers are welcome!  For additional information:  Phil@slipjigband.com
